UW-Madison’s NEW one-year steel structural systems master’s degree focus area is a uniquely tailored, practice-oriented degree program. This one-of-a-kind, coursework-based MS program was designed to fill an industry skills gap and will give you the tools, techniques, and experiences necessary to advance your career.

HOW TO APPLY

Specialized curriculum, approved by our industry partners and based on real employer insights, includes:

  • Open-web joist and deck
  • Pre-engineered metal buildings
  • Cold-formed steel framing
  • Structural modeling
  • Seminar by industry employers

THERE'S STILL TIME TO APPLY

A sequential graphic conveying the following information: (1) Meet the requirements for the Civil and Environmental Engineering Professional MS Program (2) Select Structural Engineering as your preferred specialization (3) Specify your interest in the Steel Construction Systems track in your statement of purpose (4) Send in all of your application materials by July 31, 2025

Given this is a new program, you will need to specify your interest in this program in your statement of purpose and apply under the Structural Engineering specialization.

We know the deadline has passed for most UW College of Engineering Master’s degree programs, but you can still apply for this focus area until May 30, 2025!
