Want to build the skills employers are looking for to accelerate your career in steel systems engineering? UW-Madison’s NEW one-year steel structural systems master’s degree focus area is a uniquely tailored, practice-oriented degree program. This one-of-a-kind, coursework-based MS program was designed to fill an industry skills gap and will give you the tools, techniques, and experiences necessary to advance your career.
Specialized curriculum, approved by our industry partners and based on real employer insights, includes:
- Open-web joist and deck
- Pre-engineered metal buildings
- Cold-formed steel framing
- Structural modeling
- Seminar by industry employers

This program is only 30 credits, so you can complete all the requirements in just one year! After graduation, students will have the practical experience to reduce training time for specialized positions.
